Your favorite cosmetics may be tailored to your skin’s needs, but do you know the right amount of each product to use? The right application technique, combined with the right amount of product, will deliver the best possible results for your skin, leaving it healthy and radiant.
Read on to find out the correct amount and application method for each of these.

Facial Cleanser
If your facial cleanser is a foam, then one pump is enough to cleanse your skin. For other cleansers—such as balms, lotions, or gels—use an amount about the size of a berry.
Apply the cleanser to damp skin using circular motions, avoiding the eye area (unless the product is also suitable for the eyes), and then rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.
Using more than the recommended amount can irritate your skin and leave it feeling dry. On the other hand, if you use too little, impurities and makeup won’t be removed thoroughly.
Moisturizing face cream
Use a moisturizer that suits your skin type. The ideal amount is about the size of an almond.
Apply the moisturizing face cream to dry skin using gentle circular motions. If you use more than is necessary, your skin will absorb as much as it can, and the rest will remain on the surface. So, if you have oily skin, you’ll create the perfect environment for breakouts. Don’t forget to apply the cream to your neck as well.
Facial Serum
The ideal amount of facial serum is about the size of a pea or 2–3 drops.
These serums are concentrated and enriched with active ingredients, so a small amount is ideal. Apply by dabbing and massage gently into the face. If you use less than the recommended amount, you won’t see the expected results, while using more than the recommended amount may irritate your skin.

Eye Cream
Because the area around the eyes is so sensitive, the ideal amount is about the size of a grain of rice.
If you use a moisturizing cream such as Anemoesa’s Regenerating Eye Cream, which has a rich formula, apply a smaller amount than you would with regular creams, since its formula is richer.
Sunscreen
The right amount to cover your face is about the size of a grape. Don't forget to apply sunscreen all year round and to apply it to your neck as well.
Face mask or exfoliating product
For exfoliating products, you don’t need more than a raspberry-sized amount. A thin layer of the product is enough for your skin. You shouldn’t use them more than twice a week, as using them more often will leave your skin dry and dehydrated. Apply it all over your face with a gentle massage, and once the active ingredients have been absorbed, rinse thoroughly with plenty of water.

Hand Cream
The right amount of hand cream varies throughout the day. The ideal amount is about the size of 3–4 ankles. In the morning, you’ll need a generous amount of product with SPF. In the evening, however, use a smaller amount to avoid a greasy feeling, massaging it in gently.
Hair Conditioner
One important detail we often overlook is that conditioner should be applied to the parts of the hair that need the most moisture. In other words, we don’t apply the product along the entire length of the hair, but rather from the middle of the strand and especially at the ends. The ideal amount is about the size of 2–3 hazelnuts.
Body Lotion
The ideal amount of body lotion is about the size of a walnut for each side of the body. The first walnut is for the right side of the body, the second walnut is for the left side of the body, and the third walnut is for moisturizing the hands and back, using gentle circular motions.
